Yes, it’s all true. This is a brand new blog. While I doubt that it will ever gain the popularity of the famous exchange between Salam and Raed, I can always hope that it will at least prove both interesting and helpful to folks interested in life, spirit, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
My name is Jim Sutton. I live in Montana. I am a Christian, as I trust my posts will make evident.
I suppose in today’s terminology, I should call myself an evangelical Christian, so as not to mislead anyone. I do, after all, believe the Holy Bible to be God’s Word in a very literal sense. And I do look forward to the literal and physical return of Jesus Christ to this planet.
I also believe in the gospel message of salvation by faith in Jesus Christ. Further, I believe that salvation and the gift of eternal life is made possible by God’s grace, and not by my own good works, or by some goodness found in my character, my innermost motives, or anything else found in me. The blessings and gifts of God come to us by the goodness and kindness of God alone.
I am an American. I am very grateful to have been born and raised in this good land.
But I am not blind to our faults, our sins, or our utter stupidity. We are every bit as foolish as people born and educated in any other part of the world. We have a nation, and we exist to this day as a free people only by the grace of God. Our military might, political leadership, and underlying character as a society do not guarantee any kind of freedom or continued existence as a people.
I also have many other concerns and strongly held opinions. I believe that Americans should lead the world in independence from power and utility companies. Electrical power, for example, should be generated locally, at home, and not entrusted to large corporations. The costs in materials and upkeep of power lines alone, not to mention the huge generators, etc. is silly.
While we may not save money immediately by turning to personal home-powered systems, we will in the long run. No doubt about it. And money is not the only issue. There is the issue of independence. So long as we look to sprawling “providers” for heat and light and cooling, we may as well be serfs on some feudal lord’s land. The time for kings and tyrants is past. Let us learn to stand on our own two feet, to provide for our own families, and to go forward toward real liberty.
So, you may find most any kind of topic posted here. Stay tuned.
