Behold, God is my salvation,
I will trust and not be afraid;
For YAH, the LORD, is my strength and song;
He also has become my salvation.
— Isaiah 12:2  (NKJV)

As wonderful as the human mind is, and as powerful as we may think we are at times, we are wise to remember that all the good things in life that come our way come to us by the hand of God.  No human being is all-powerful.  None of us are fully in control of our own lives.  There are always people, situations, and circumstances that we cannot control.

I know, because I am a controlling person.  I try to always make the things around me go my way.  And I get very frustrated when I cannot control the details of my own life.  I especially become agitated when I think that some other human being has gained control over some aspect of my life.

Traffic, for example, can be a real test of my patience.  And I do not participate in “office politics” of any kind.  I have no interest in manipulating other people, and I really have no interest in allowing others to think they can manipulate me.
Participation, however, is part of life.  We share the world with billions of other people, and countless other living things.  We even share it with tiny microscopic things that we are still trying to understand.
I delight to remember that in all things, the Lord Jesus is in ultimate control.  He is the one who saves me — not only from whatever may come against me from some “outside” force or circumstance, but from my own ignorance and foolishness.

Our world is not always peaceful.  The seas can become choppy and even a threat to our very lives.  Winds and floods, droughts and famines, severe cold and heat, tragic auto collisions, economic collapse, and any number of other things may come our way.  Some of these we may be able to avoid by using good sense.  Obviously, we should avoid trouble when we can.  But some things are going to happen.
In all the circumstances of life, God is my salvation, my help, and my hope.  Even on the really bad days, I turn to Him and He grants me the peace of mind I need to carry on.  He provides help and strength.

Through Jesus Christ, the Lord our God will ultimately give a lasting victory to all who truly hope in Him.  Thank the Lord for that!
