Human history has proven in every generation that Jesus Christ is the ultimate transformer of human lives and human events.  But the transforming power of Christ was at work long before the first human being walked the earth.

Transformed by Jesus ChristScripture reveals that Christ was the Eternal Word which was with God and which was, in fact, God.  The Bible also explains that Christ Himself is the Creator of all things.  Whatever exists in the universe as we know it, and whatever may exist beyond that — all that is — was made by Him, and without Christ nothing was made.  That information comes right out of the Gospel of John in the New Testament.

In another time and place, the writer of Hebrews (another portion of Scripture in the New Testament) says this about Jesus Christ: “God … has … spoken to us by His Son … through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high…”  (Hebrews 1:1-3, NKJV)

In that concise passage we see the eternal Christ as both He who created and sustains all things, and He who alone has the power to transform human lives forever.  Jesus Christ is the very power and nature of the one and only God, and He is the One who makes it possible for lost sinners to be both forgiven and transformed — through the blood of His cross and the power of His resurrection.

In a world filled with fictional heroes, how astonishing it is to realize that God has given us the ultimate HERO in Jesus Christ.  He is our Rescuer, our Mighty Savior, our one hope of forgiveness and eternal life!  Praise God for such an unspeakable gift.
