A few years ago I was doing research on Amelia Earhart and produced an illustration of a female aviator (aviatrix) inspired by a couple of her photos. She was quite the adventuress as well as a daring pilot.

Just recently, I did some updating of the illustration and produced a GospelGifs graphic as a challenge aimed especially at young girls. Many kids fail to see the connection between their church activities and any real adventures that might inspire the imagination. That is only because they don’t yet know the whole story.

Foreign missionaries, to mention just one group, often have quite a few amazing experiences as they reach into other lands to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with people far away from home. If you think that all such adventures are the stuff of history, you simply need to sit and chat with a few missionary families sometime.

Anyway, I’m posting the picture here, as well as on the GospelGifs website. Pastors, Sunday school leaders, VBS planners and other can feel free to use it in their programs.
